Local Charities Benefit from TN Media Employee Holiday Auction

By admin

photo 3Each year, TN Media takes the promotional items sent to The Tennessean newsroom by eager publicists and brand managers and produces a holiday auction for the staff.

Books, cosmetics, toys and gadgets were among the favorite items bid on by employees.

I even managed to keep one purchase a secret from my hubby. Shhh, don’t tell him, but “Respect Yourself – Stax Records and the Soul Explosion” by Robert Gordon will be wrapped and under the Cass Christmas tree.

The TN Media Purpose Committee organized the auction and collectively selected three charities to benefit from the dollars raised. We first looked inward to support our own employees, allocating one third of the dollars raised for our employee relief fund. The other dollars were donated to Second Harvest Food Bank and Book ‘Em.

Our very own Ms. Cheap served as our celebrity cashier. She would clap, cheer and yell when someone rounded up their total. This energy was contagious. I found myself doing the same thing!

The grand total collected was $3,579.75!
